Official: Lazio Defender Armini Joins Serie C Side Piacenza on Loan

Lazio defender Nicolo Armini has officially joined Serie C side Piacenza on a season-long loan.

As announced in an official statement earlier today, the 20-year-old Italian defender has joined Piacenza on loan for the upcoming season, where he will be given regular first-team minutes as he looks to continue his development.

Below is the club’s statement in full:

S.S. Lazio announces the temporary transfer, for the 2021-2022 football season, of the registration rights of the player Nicolò Armini to Piacenza Calcio 1919.

The 20-year-old Armini is a product of Lazio’s youth system, having joined the club at the age of 15 from amateur side Santa Maria delle Mole.

He has only ever made four first-team appearances for the Biancocelesti, all under previous coach Simone Inzaghi, who did not often place trust in the younger players.

Armini has made 56 appearances for the Lazio Primavera side, having been one of the more talented players in the squad. He did not manage to convince coach Maurizio Sarri to keep him for the first team this summer, so this season on loan will provide him with much-needed experience.
