Lazio May Make a Move for Wolfsburg’s Brekalo Should Caicedo or Correa Leave

Lazio may look to sign VfL Wolfsburg winger Josip Brekalo should they sell Joaquin Correa or Felipe Caicedo this month.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Tempo (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are still looking for a new winger for coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system, with both Brekalo and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic being targeted by the Roman club.

Brekalo is an exciting option for Lazio, but they’ll only look to sign the 23-year-old Croatian winger should either Correa or Caicedo be sold this month.

One issue is the demands of Wolfsburg, who are only willing to let him leave on a loan deal with a €15 million buy option attached.

The Croatian winger is highly appreciated by coach Sarri and would adapt well to his system, but the Biancocelesti still need to solve their issues with the liquidity ratio as well.

Contracted to Wolfsburg until 2023, Brekalo scored seven goals and provided three assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances last season.
