Lazio Target Basic Impresses for Bordeaux as Talks Enter Decisive Week

Lazio target Toma Basic continues to impress for Bordeaux as the talks for the midfielder enter a decisive week.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the Biancocelesti have been linked with the 24-year-old Croatian midfielder for some time now, believing him to be the perfect replacement for the ageing Lucas Leiva.

The Biancocelesti haven’t been able to close out the deal yet due to their issues with the liquidity ratio, which is currently blocking them from making any new signings, but that may change this week, with president Claudio Lotito prepared to take out a loan to resolve the issue.

Lazio are likely to pay around €10 million including add-ons for Basic, who impressed yesterday in Bordeaux’s 2-2 draw with Olympique Marseille.

Basic started in the match and showed his qualities, providing the assist for Remi Oudin’s equaliser. He also made 39 touches, completed 24 of his 34 passes and two successful dribbles.
