VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Jörg Schmadtke has confirmed that Lazio haven’t made an offer for winger Josip Brekalo.
Speaking in an interview with German newspaper Wolfsburger Allgemeine / Aller-Zeitung (via LazioNews24) yesterday, the Wolfsburg sporting director provided an update on the future of the 23-year-old Croatian winger, who has been linked to Lazio for some time now.
There is no offer on the table.
Tare? He and I have known each other for a long time, as we have a past in Dusseldorf in common.
We often chat when we meet, but the subject of Brekalo has never been discussed and I haven’t heard anything from him.

The Croatian winger made 29 Bundesliga appearances last season, for a total of 1824 minutes. In that time, he scored seven goals and provided three assists, impressing both offensively and defensively.
One of Lazio’s top targets this month is Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic, and their interest in the Serbian may explain why they haven’t pushed for Brekalo, although things could change in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window.
