Lazio’s Serie A Opener Against Empoli May Be Played in Fiorentina’s Stadio Franchi

Lazio’s Serie A season opener against Empoli may be played at Fiorentina’s Stadio Artemio Franchi.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, Empoli’s home the Stadio Carlo Castellani has undergone structural work in several sectors over the summer, forcing the club to play their Coppa Italia opener against Vicenza behind closed doors.

Empoli hoped to have the green light to allow fans back ahead of the start of the season, but the possibility of playing their opening game against Lazio at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence has not been ruled out.
