La Liga 2 Side Almeria’s Loan Offer for Vavro Rejected by Lazio

La Liga 2 side Almeria are interested in Lazio defender Denis Vavro but their initial loan offer was rejected.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero last night, the Spanish second tier club are looking for a new central defender and have identified the 25-year-old Slovakian centre back as a strong option.

Almeria asked the Biancocelesti for a dry loan, but the Roman club declined, wanting to include an obligation to buy clause under certain conditions.

At the moment, nothing else has taken place, but there is still a chance that another offer will arrive before the end of this month.

The 25-year-old Vavro did not impress Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore and so will not be included in his plans for the upcoming Serie A season.

Contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, Vavro made 11 La Liga appearances whilst on loan with SD Huesca, and failed to help them avoid relegation.
