Lazio Forward Correa Likely to Be Available for Season Opener vs Empoli

Lazio forward Joaquin Correa is likely to be available for the season opener against Empoli amidst doubts around his future.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Argentinian striker is one of Inter’s targets to replace Romelu Lukaku, but their priority is Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata, who would cost around €10-15 million more.

Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito wants around €30 million for Correa, and some foreign clubs are also keen on the Argentinian, like Everton or an unnamed side in La Liga, but still nothing concrete has arrived yet.

As such, Correa will most likely be available to coach Maurizio Sarri for the Serie A season opener against Empoli on Saturday evening, which could possibly be his last game in a Lazio shirt.
