Lazio duo Adam Marusic and Luiz Felipe are set to start against Empoli on Saturday.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the pair were absent from Monday’s training session in Formello with muscle fatigue, with some fears that they may be forced to miss the Serie A season opener against Empoli on Saturday evening.
Yesterday, however, the Biancocelesti both returned to the squad training session, although the Brazilian defender was rested from the afternoon session.

Marusic and Luiz Felipe are therefore expected to makeup half of Maurizio Sarri’s back four for Lazio’s first game of the season, with Francesco Acerbi and Elseid Hysaj likely to start alongside them.

Sarri is still hoping for the arrival of some more reinforcements this month, with Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic and Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic his top two targets to strengthen the squad.
The club also need to work on thinning out the squad, with many redundant players still in the Biancocelesti environment.
