Lazio Considering Malmo Defender Ahmedhodzic as Replacement for Vavro

Lazio are considering signing Malmö centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic should Denis Vavro leave this month.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are starting to make more moves in the transfer market again, having solved their issue with the liquidity ratio yesterday.

The 25-year-old Vavro, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2024, has not been included in the Serie A squad registration list, with coach Maurizio Sarri not impressed with the defender following the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, and as such is expected to leave soon.

Should Vavro depart in the remaining days of the transfer market, then Lazio may look to sign the 22-year-old Ahmedhodzic from Malmo. The Bosnian defender impressed last season for the Swedish side and also attracted the attention of both Napoli and Atalanta.

With a contract expiring in 2023, Malmo value Ahmedhodzic at around €4-5 million, an accessible price that Lazio can make for the promising centre back.
