Lazio have officially signed young talent Luka Romero from La Liga side RCD Mallorca.

As seen in an official announcement on Twitter last night, the Biancocelesti signed the promising 16-year-old Argentinian forward to a three-year contract, with hopes that he can live up to his potential.

Nicknamed the ‘Baby Messi’, Romero joined the Biancocelesti squad for their pre-season retreat in Auronzo di Cadore and impressed many with his work rate and technical abilities.

He is likely to be a part of coach Maurizio Sarri’s first team this season, although his minutes are likely to be fairly limited.

Lazio only had to pay RCD Mallorca a €200 thousand training premium, an incredible deal for a player with Romero’s potential.
