Following two quick goals in the first ten minutes of the match, both Empoli and Lazio tested each other out until Manuel Lazzari scored the third goal of the match in the 30′ to give I Biancocelesti the lead.
The play started with a switch from Felipe Anderson on the left flank. He found Lazzari in space, and he provided a quick pass into Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. With the Italian continuing his run, the Serbian took just one touch to stop the ball before placing a perfect pass back to the wing-back.
Lazzari then took a first-time driven shot which beat Guglielmo Vicario in goal.
