Lazio want to sign Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic in time for the Serie A match against Spezia on Saturday.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have been working to sign the 24-year-old Croatian midfielder for some time now and their offer is only €500 thousand below the Ligue 1 club’s requested price.
The player’s entourage are under pressure from the French club to close out the deal as quickly as possible, as they want to re-invest the funds into other transfer targets.
Lazio’s objective is to reach an agreement with Bordeaux by the middle of this week in order to complete Basic‘s medicals quickly and allow him to be available for the match against Spezia on Saturday.
The Roman club have already reached an agreement with the player, a five-year contract worth around €1.5 million net per season. He is being signed to be the long-term replacement for the ageing Lucas Leiva.
