Torino Are Strongly Interested in Outcast Lazio Defender Vavro

Torino are seriously interested in signing redundant Lazio defender Denis Vavro.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Granata have encountered difficulties in their attempts to sign Rodrigo Becao from Udinese and the 25-year-old Slovakian is one of their alternatives.

Vavro did not impress coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore and so wasn’t included in the Serie A squad registration list, meaning that a move away is now likely.

Talks between Torino and Lazio regarding Vavro could kick off soon, with the transfer window set to draw to a close soon. Developments are expected throughout this week.

Rumours have also linked the 25-year-old Slovakian defender with a move to Spain, but so far nothing concrete has occurred.

The Roman club were hoping to recoup the €10.5 million invested into Vavro only two years ago, but this now seems incredibly unlikely.
