Lazio full back Manuel Lazzari is working to impress in his new role in coach Maurizio Sarri’s system.
As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian is most known for playing as a wing-back, a role he excelled at under previous coach Simone Inzaghi in his 3-5-2 system.
In Sarri’s 4-3-3, Lazzari instead has to play a different role, having more defensive responsibilities in a four-man defence.

Initially, there seemed to be no space for Lazzari, but the former SPAL man has worked hard to earn the esteem of the Italian coach and once the first day of Lazio‘s pre-season training camp he has begun studying his defensive requirements.

Lazzari started to prove himself in the 3-1 win over Empoli last weekend, having scored the second goal and showing positive signs both offensively and defensively.
The 27-year-old Italian is now working to confirm himself as a strong right-back for Sarri‘s system, competing with Adam Marusic for the starting spot.
