Lazio Women beat San Marino Academy 4-1 in a pre-season friendly yesterday.
As reported by Italian fan outlet Lazio Women on Twitter last night, coach Carolina Morace’s side enjoyed their 4-1 win, the final pre-season friendly they’ll play before facing Sampdoria Women in their Serie A Femminile season opener on Sunday afternoon.
The referee in yesterday’s friendly was Luca Zani, with his assistants being Laura Cordani and Ernesto Cristiano.
The scoring was opened by 24-year-old Italian midfielder Antonietta Castiello in the third minute, with Morace’s squad starting the match well.
That advantage was doubled in the 33rd minute by 29-year-old Maltese midfielder Rachel Cuschieri.
Just before half time, 34-year-old Spanish forward Adriana Martin netted to give Lazio Women a 3-0 lead going into the break.
The second half did not produce any difference for a while, until 21-year-old Dutch midfielder Sofieke Jansen scored a consolation goal.
Only a minute later, 18-year-old Italian forward Sarah Mattei netted the final goal, with the match then ending 4-1.
