Lazio Preparing Agreement With Verona for Zaccagni Should Kostic Talks Collapse

Lazio are preparing to reach an agreement with Hellas Verona for Mattia Zaccagni should the talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for Filip Kostic collapse.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti’s top target is still the 28-year-old Serbian winger, but negotiations with the German club are tough and have been postponed until tomorrow.

In order to avoid missing out on both targets, the Roman club are working to reach an agreement with the Gialloblu for the 26-year-old Italian midfielder.

Lazio have already reached an agreement in principle with Hellas Verona for Zaccagni on the basis of €8 million plus €2 million in add-ons. The midfielder’s contract expires with the Gialloblu next year and a contract renewal seems incredibly unlikely now.

The Roman club will continue to work on the Kostic deal for now, but will not be found unprepared should those talks collapse, wanting to provide another reinforcement for coach Maurizio Sarri.
