Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto is set to start against Spezia today but he still needs to convince coach Maurizio Sarri.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Spaniard has had a difficult summer, arriving late at the training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, briefly being the subject of transfer rumours and not starting against Empoli last weekend.
The former Liverpool man has not yet convinced coach Sarri of his adaption to a 4-3-3 system, and so the Spaniard needs to impress when he starts against Spezia today.

Sarri will start Luis Alberto ahead of Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro but the 28-year-old needs to understand that certain tactical liberties which were possible in previous Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 are no longer allowed.

The 62-year-old Italian coach is expecting Luis Alberto’s growth to be rapid, but the 28-year-old Spanish midfielder will need to work hard to prove himself and his capabilities.
