Unneeded Lazio full-back Djavan Anderson is close to joining Serie B side Cosenza on loan.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla last night, the 26-year-old Dutch full-back is happy to join the Calabrian side, who have already reached an agreement with the Biancocelesti, on a loan deal.

Contracted to Lazio until 2023, Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri was not impressed with the 26-year-old Djavan Anderson and so it’s better for the player to leave in order to get regular playing time.

Last season, Djavan Anderson only made three Serie A appearances, for a total of 70 minutes. Despite joining Lazio in 2018, the player has only ever made 10 first-team appearances for the club, being a poor investment.

However, Djavan Anderson could still impress on loan with Cosenza. He spent the 2018/19 season on loan with then-second tier side Salernitana, where he made 18 Serie B appearances, scoring one goal in that time.
