Lazio’s Immobile: “Sarri’s Forwards Have Scored a Lot of Goals & I Couldn’t Wait”

Lazio star Ciro Immobile was overjoyed following his hattrick in the 6-1 win over Spezia yesterday.

Speaking in an interview as reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 after the game, the 31-year-old Italian striker first spoke about his enthusiasm following his memorable summer with the Azzurri.

I won a little something this summer, the European Championship with 25 madmen, the merit must be shared with my teammates, I can express myself at the maximum, I dedicate it to them.

He touched on the Serie A goal record and how he feels about it.

I started working with enthusiasm, Sarri’s forwards have scored a lot of goals and I couldn’t wait to get started.

It’s even better with the fans, we need their support.

The Lazio star discussed the penalty that he missed in the first half.

I’ve said a lot of things to myself, I missed four penalties last year and today I changed where to shoot it at the last minute and it bothers me that I missed it.

Finally, Immobile spoke about the importance of support from the fans in the Curva Nord.

The curva is spectacular, we missed them so much and I hope more people will come.

The 31-year-old Immobile, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2025, has had a flying start to the season, having scored four goals across the Biancocelesti’s opening two wins against Empoli and Spezia.

The former Torino and Genoa man has scored 154 goals in total for the Biancocelesti now across 221 appearances, making him the club’s top all-time goalscorer.
