Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina has provided the most assists in Europe’s top five leagues since the 2007/08 season.

As reported by Italian stats provider OptaPaolo on Twitter yesterday, the 38-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has provided six assists since the 2007/08 season, the most out of any goalkeeper in Europe.

Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri was insistent on keeping the former Liverpool man central to his project in Rome, believing the player to be the perfect goalkeeper for his attacking 4-3-3 system.
