Official: Lazio Midfielder Sofian Kiyine Has Transferred to Venezia

Lazio midfielder Sofian Kiyine has officially transferred to fellow Serie A side Venezia.

As announced in an official statement last night, the 23-year-old Moroccan midfielder has joined the newly promoted side on a loan deal which contains a conditional obligation to buy clause, linked to sporting results.

The 23-year-old Kiyine signed for Lazio in 2019 from Chievo Verona in a deal worth around €1.5 million. He was immediately loaned out to Salernitana and never made an appearance for the Biancocelesti in his two years contracted to the club.

In his two years on loan with Salernitana, Kiyine made 72 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 5034 minutes. In that time, he scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists.

Considering that Kiyine’s loan contains a conditional obligation to buy clause, there’s a chance that he’ll return to Lazio next summer.

The Biancocelesti are working on selling a variety of unneeded fringe players and need to close out a few deals today, with the transfer window set to close tonight.
