Lazio midfielder Fabio Maistro has officially joined Serie B side Ascoli Calcio on loan.
As announced in an official statement last night, the 23-year-old Italian midfielder has joined the second-tier side on a season-long loan deal, where he’ll be looking for regular minutes as he continues his development.
Maistro joined Lazio in 2019 from Serie C side Rieti and was immediately loaned out to Salernitana. He then spent last season on loan with fellow Serie B side Pescara.

The 23-year-old Maistro has never made a first team appearance for Lazio and with his contract set to expire next year in 2022, this chance seems unlikely now.

Last campaign, the Italian midfielder made 29 Serie B appearances last season, for a total of 1831 minutes. In that time, he scored four goals and picked up nine yellow cards, playing both as a central and attacking midfielder.
Maistro will be hoping to impress this season with Ascoli in order to convince a new club to take a chance on him.
