Lotito on Lazio Women: “They’re an Organised, Well-Equipped Team”

Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke at the Lazio Women presentation yesterday.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi yesterday, the 64-year-old Italian businessman spoke on the sidelines of the “Il Calcio incontra la Moda” (Football meets Fashion) event in Via Veneto yesterday, where the Lazio Women squad were presented.

This is a street, as the president of the association recalled, where my colleague Ballarin established Lazio’s headquarters 100 years ago. In that year, our beloved Lazio was awarded the title of Ente Morale.

I intend to continue in that vein. The team’s pitch was donated to poor people to make vegetable gardens. My intention is to combine sport and culture again, but above all a social presence in the area.

Beyond the result, we must promote these values to train the young people who will be the future citizens of tomorrow. Today I felt it was my duty to promote this event and relaunch this route.

After the very sad period that has passed we need to pull together to relaunch the city. The spirit of the team, which is a jewel, is to win and be fighters.

The Lazio president also discussed the growth of the club.

We have given the imprint of an organised Lazio, they have never been so in history. They’re an organised, well-equipped team that also has the pride of belonging. I hope they can achieve important goals.

They did it last year, because let’s not forget that they achieved the best performance in the history of women’s football. The most wins, the fewest defeats, the most goals and the top scorer.

They have broken all the records, let’s hope that this year, with a little patience, but above all with will and determination, we can achieve important goals.

First of all by maintaining in the topflight, and then trying to compete with the teams that have been playing for years in Serie A on equal terms.

Finally, Lotito spoke about coach Carolina Morace.

Morace is a strong-willed and determined person, who is able to cement a group. She has the ambition to achieve the best results. This fits with my mentality.

She is combative, I hope that this year, through this character, she will be able to put the team in a position to achieve the goals they deserve.
