Lazio sporting director Igli Tare was not interested in discussing the failed attempt to sign Filip Kostic.

Speaking to German media outlet Spox yesterday, the Albanian sporting director did not shed any light on the controversy surrounding the club’s failed attempts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Kostic.

I don’t want to say anything about it. It doesn’t make sense to talk about it anymore. We would have liked to sign Filip Kostic.

But now it’s history. We all wish the player and Eintracht Frankfurt the best.

Lazio submitted an offer to Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday, but the player didn’t receive it. His agent, Fali Ramadani, suggested that the German club intentionally gave the Biancocelesti the wrong email address for the offer.

Eintracht Frankfurt refuted this, suggesting that Lazio misspelt the email address on their first offer.

The Roman club have not officially commented on the situation, but it is definitely clear that some mistakes were made.

Instead of signing Kostic, Lazio focused on signing Hellas Verona midfielder Mattia Zaccagni, which was completed before the transfer window closed.

With the Serbian winger’s contract expiring in two years in Frankfurt, the Roman club may look to sign the player in next summer’s window.
