Serbian side Red Star are interested in signing unneeded Lazio defender Dimitrije Kamenovic on loan.

As reported by Serbian media outlet Alo.rs earlier today, the 21-year-old defender has not been included in coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans for this season, but the club failed to find a new home for him during the summer transfer window.

However, some summer windows are still open in countries like Ukraine, Turkey and Serbia, meaning Lazio could still transfer the player.

Serbian champions Red Star are keen on signing Kamenovic on a loan deal, needing an alternative to Milan Rodic, as well as having rotation options for their Europa League campaign as well.

Updates are expected soon, as Lazio are not keen to keep Kamenovic for this season, with the player having failed to convince coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

The 21-year-old Kamenovic signed for Lazio from Cukaricki earlier this summer in a deal worth around €2.5 million.
