Redundant Lazio Full-Back Durmisi: “I Want to Play Football”

Unneeded Lazio full-back Riza Durmisi has expressed his desire to play football again.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 yesterday, the 27-year-old Danish left-back posted a series of Instagram stories recently showing photos of him wearing various football shirts over recent years, accompanied by the caption: “I want to play football.”

Durmisi is currently training separately in Formello, hoping to find a new home in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 27-year-old Durmisi spent last season on loan with then-Serie B side Salernitana, but he only made five appearances for the club, all of them coming from the bench.

The season prior to that, the Danish full-back made only five appearances across all competitions for Ligue 1 side Nice.

In the 2018/19 season, following his signing for Lazio, Durmisi made 19 appearances across all competitions for the Biancocelesti, making only two starts in Serie A.

Unfortunately for the Dane, coach Maurizio Sarri is not interested in including the player in his plans, and so he’ll have to wait until January to find a club where he’ll be able to play again.
