Lazio Forward Muriqi Scored Last Minute Equaliser for Kosovo vs Greece

Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi was Kosovo’s saviour last night, scoring a last-minute equaliser against Greece.

As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 27-year-old Kosovan forward scored in the 92nd minute in last night’s 2022 World Cup qualifier between Kosovo and Greece, securing an important point for his national team as the game ended 1-1.

It has been a positive international break for Muriqi, as he also scored the only goal in Kosovo’s win against Georgia last week.

Despite struggling with Lazio, Muriqi is still a key figure for the Kosovan national team, having scored 17 goals in 32 appearances for his country. Earlier this summer, the 27-year-old also scored a poker in Kosovo’s 4-1 win over San Marino.

Muriqi has only ever scored two goals for Lazio across 36 appearances, but he will be hoping to shine in his second season in Rome, now playing under coach Maurizio Sarri. He has made two brief appearances this campaign, but will surely be given some time to impress as the season develops.
