Lazio Women Goalkeeper Ohrstrom: “We Still Lack a Bit of Experience & Confidence”

Lazio Women goalkeeper Stephanie Ohrstrom highlighted the importance of growth in the early stages of the season.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio yesterday, the 34-year-old Swedish goalkeeper discussed the Biancocelesti’s tough 1-0 loss to Inter Women.

We knew that Inter were a very strong team, so we were aware that we had to face a complicated match in which we had to know how to suffer.

We managed to be more compact compared to the match against Sampdoria.

She touched on some of the issues facing the squad in that match.

We still lack a bit of experience and confidence, factors that will surely come game after game. When Inter missed the penalty I had the feeling that we could have equalised.

In the second half we played in a more relaxed manner, although we still make too many mistakes.

The Lazio Women goalkeeper touched on the importance of learning lessons from the defeat and what the squad will take from the match.

We could have scored the equaliser, it’s a pity, but let’s take these first few games to grow and as a sort of preparation because maybe we missed playing friendly matches at a high level.

The first matches will help us to understand the level of Serie A, we’ll try to do well in the next one and if we get points we’ll welcome it.

Finally, Ohrstrom discussed her performance in the match against Inter Women and how she’s settling into the squad.

I’m happy with today’s saves, the last one in the corner surprised me too because it was a very complicated save.

I am happy to be able to help the team, I hope that we will be able to score points because today we lost.

I’m getting on well with my new teammates, they want to learn, listen and work hard. With this spirit we can do well.
