Ex-Lazio Target Filip Kostic Breaks His Silence: “Some People Owe Me an Apology”

Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic, who was close to a move to Lazio last month, has finally broken his silence.

As seen in a post on his Instagram page yesterday, the 28-year-old Serbian winger finally commented on the situation, which saw him miss the 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld for unknown reasons as the Biancocelesti tried to secure his signature.

Kostic posted a photo on his Instagram page yesterday, accompanied by the caption:

I love Eintracht Frankfurt and am grateful for everything I have here. Against Bielefeld I wasn’t psychologically ready to play. This was not a protest!

I would like to apologise to the fans who were misinformed and also thank my team members for their support.

Some people owe me an apology, but we don’t have time to deal with that because we have a difficult season ahead of us.

I remain mentally strong and will continue to fight for the club because the team needs me.

Eintracht Frankfurt above all.

Decisive Test Today for Lazzari as He Pushes to Feature in Lazio vs AC Milan

The 28-year-old Kostic, who is contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2023, had agreed to personal terms with Lazio weeks before the end of the summer transfer window, but the German club were not keen to sell the player.

There was confusion in the last few days of the market regarding Kostic’s future, with Lazio reportedly sending their initial offer to the wrong email address.

Frankfurt then decided to take him off the market, forcing the Roman club to pursue other targets instead; they signed Hellas Verona midfielder Mattia Zaccagni before the closure of the window.
