Lazio Full-Back Elseid Hysaj Discusses Apparent Injury In Albania vs San Marino

Lazio full-back Elseid Hysaj confirmed that his injury was nothing serious following Albania’s 5-0 win over San Marino.

Speaking in an interview with Albanian media outlet Abcnews.al last night, the 27-year-old Albanian full-back first commented on his goal in the match.

I think I scored with my head, like Ronaldo. I’ve started to enjoy scoring. We have more confidence in ourselves.

We are a strong team and we have players who play in the Champions League. We’ll do well.

The Lazio full-back then discussed his substitution in the 81st minute.

Luckily it was nothing serious. It was a tough challenge, I could have been hurt more.

Finally, Hysaj discussed Albania’s performance against Poland; the first of the nation’s three international break fixtures, which resulted in a 4-1 loss.

The mistakes killed us off a bit. We should have achieved more.

The 27-year-old Hysaj, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has had a good start to the season under coach Maurizio Sarri, who was incredibly keen to be reunited with the player.

The Albanian full-back, whose contract expired with Napoli at the start of the summer, scored in the 6-1 win over Spezia before the international break and has been impressive in Sarri’s 4-3-3 system, passing well and helping to progress the ball up the pitch.

Hysaj will remain Sarri’s first-choice left-back for the majority of the season.
