Lazio’s Zaccagni: “My Personal Objective Is to Play as Many Games as Possible”

Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni was excited to begin his new adventure with the Biancocelesti.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder first discussed what role he’ll play in the Roman squad.

I’m very happy to be here, I’ve arrived in a great group, the role will be the one I played at Verona, I hope to do well.

The former Hellas Verona midfielder then touched on how his arrival at Lazio felt following the transfer.

The first day I felt the warmth of my teammates, they are great guys, as soon as I heard about Lazio I immediately said yes, also because I am convinced that the coach will be able to enhance my characteristics.

Lazio has always been an important club with a great history.

He discussed both his personal objectives and the objectives of the squad.

My personal objective is to play as many games as possible, while Lazio’s objective is to win game after game and see where that leads.

Zaccagni spoke about his desire to continue his development and if he can be a leader in the squad.

We’ll see, time will tell, I’ll try to improve myself every day. I’ll put all my good will into it and I think Sarri can make me improve, especially on the offensive end.

The 26-year-old spoke about if he’ll start against AC Milan tomorrow.

I remember making my debut in Milan against Inter, this time it will be Milan.

It’s a new beginning for me, I’m very happy to do it in this shirt.

Even from the TV you can feel the warmth of the city for this match, I’m very excited.

Finally, Zaccagni touched on how it felt to be in a squad with players like Felipe Anderson.

It’s an honour for me to be able to play here and play against team-mates like them, I can learn a lot from them.
