Torino Star Belotti to Miss Upcoming Match vs Lazio Due to Injury

Torino star Andrea Belotti is set to miss the upcoming Serie A clash against Lazio due to an injury.

As confirmed by Torino coach Ivan Juric when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via LazioNews24) yesterday, the 27-year-old Italian forward has suffered an injury that will force him out of the next few matches, including the one against the Biancocelesti in nine days time.

Below is Juric’s comments about Belotti and his condition:

The renewal doesn’t concern him, but the athletic condition. He can’t run and train, he surely won’t be there for the next matches.

He’ll miss three or four games, because he cannot train at the moment.

He has a great desire, he’s sorry he can’t contribute. I don’t see a problem with the renewal, he’s calm.

The 27-year-old Belotti, who is contracted to Torino until 2022, is the talismanic figure of the Granata squad, having scored 106 goals for them in 231 appearances across all competitions since his arrival in 2015.

The Italian striker had already started this season well, netting a consolation goal in the 2-1 loss to Atalanta in the opening game, and so his absence is good news for Lazio.

Last season, Belotti scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 35 Serie A appearances, helping Torino avoid relegation despite inconsistent results throughout the season.
