Sarri May Rely on Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro to Provide Balance in Lazio’s Midfield

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is considering making more use of Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro in order to balance out the midfield.

As reported by Italian newspapers Corriere dello Sport and Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach was firmly disappointed with the team’s poor performance in the 2-0 loss to AC Milan on Sunday last week.

Why There Is No Need for Lazio & Supporters to Panic Just Yet

Sarri wants to turn things around and not allow results to slip, and so is preparing to make some tactical changes in order to improve the team’s capabilities.

The midfield appeared too unbalanced, and so the Lazio coach is considering using Akpa Akpro in place of Luis Alberto, something he already tried out in the opening match against Empoli.

There is also a chance that Toma Basic could be used in that role instead, with the former Bordeaux man’s physicality possibly being key.

Sarri is considering his options now and there could be visible changes by Thursday’s Europa League opener against Galatasaray.
