Referee Davide Ghersini will oversee Lazio’s Serie A clash against Cagliari on Sunday.

As announced in an official statement earlier today, the 36-year-old Italian referee will officiate the match between the Biancocelesti and the Rossoblu at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend, a match in which coach Maurizio Sarri will be forced to watch from the sidelines.

Lazio to Appeal Coach Sarri’s 2-Game Suspension Following Red Card vs AC Milan

This match will be the second time that Ghersini has officiated a Lazio match, with the first time coming on 18th April of this year, when the Roman club beat Benevento 5-3.

In that match, he gave two yellow cards and two penalty kicks, with both teams being awarded one.

The Genoa-born referee has overseen five Cagliari games in the past; two wins, two draws and one loss.
