New Cagliari Coach Mazzarri Already Preparing His Plan for Match vs Lazio

New Cagliari coach Walter Mazzarri is already working hard to prepare the squad for Sunday’s match vs Lazio.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 59-year-old Italian was appointed coach of the Rossoblu following the dismissal of previous coach Leonardo Semplici.

Mazzarri most recently worked as the coach of Torino, where he spent two years and averaged 1.55 points per game out of his 89 matches in charge.

Yesterday was Cagliari’s first training session under Mazzarri and he is already working on a 3-5-2 system, so Joao Pedro and Keita Balde could find some space up front against Lazio on Sunday.

In defence, Martin Caceres is set to play an important role and the back five will contain both Dalbert and Gabriele Zappa, with Nahitan Nandez moving into the midfield.

Cagliari currently sit 17th in Serie A after the opening three games, having one point following two losses and a draw.
