Galatasaray Forward Dervisoglu: “Lazio Are Tough, but We Know What We Can Do”

Galatasaray forward Halil Dervisoglu was excited for this evening’s Europa League opener against Lazio.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 21-year-old Turkish forward was looking forward to playing the Biancocelesti in front of the home fans at the Turk Telekom stadium.

I am excited for the game. For the first time, I’ll be playing in front of Galatasaray’s fans.

We are also focused as a team and we are well prepared. We hope to perform well in front of our fans and come out victorious. 

Lazio are tough, but we know what we can do. We will go into that game with confidence.

The 21-year-old Dervisoglu is currently on loan at Galatasaray with Premier League side Brentford, who included an option to buy clause in the deal.

This season, the young Turkish forward has made one Super Lig appearance so far, scoring one goal in his 82 minutes against Trabzonspor.

Last campaign, Dervisoglu made 12 Super Lig appearances for Galatasaray, for a total of 577 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided two assists, being an exciting young talent with potential.

The 21-year-old forward made his debut with the Turkish national team in May of this year and was brought along to this summer’s European Championship. He has already scored two goals in his six caps.
