Ex-Coach Eriksson Thinks Lazio & Roma Will Battle for 4th in Serie A This Season

Former Lazio coach Sven-Goran Eriksson believes it’ll be a battle between the Roman clubs for a top-four finish this season.

Speaking in an interview with The Italian Football Podcast earlier this week, the 73-year-old Swede discussed what the top four will look like at the end of this Serie A season.

I think on paper Inter are one of the favourites to win the Serie A this season but they have lost very important players and it’s not easy to replace them.

Juventus lost Cristiano Ronaldo too. AC Milan look very strong, and they almost defeated Liverpool in the Champions League.

I think AC Milan will win, Inter will finish second then Juventus third and one of the Rome clubs will finish fourth.

Jose Mourinho’s Roma currently sit top of the league table after the first three games, sitting on nine points after a perfect start. The Giallorossi have scored nine goals already and only conceded two, efficiently converting leads into wins.

Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio have had a decent start to their campaign, with strong wins over Empoli 3-1 and Spezia 6-1, before stumbling at the San Siro against a lively AC Milan side.
