Galatasaray Coach Terim Happy With Win vs Lazio, “Deserved the Three Points”

Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim was thrilled with his side’s 1-0 win over Lazio last night.

Speaking to Galatasaray’s official outlets (via LazioNews24) last night, the 68-year-old Turkish coach commented on the 1-0 win over the Biancocelesti in their Europa League opener yesterday.

Playing against the Biancocelesti is not easy, they have a great coach and players who are capable of playing for the Scudetto.

We’re a young team, the less mistakes we make the more steps we’ll take to become great. It makes me happy to be in Europe, it was a good comeback and we deserved the three points.

Lazio were disappointing in yesterday’s match against Galatasaray, struggling to match the Turkish side’s intensity from the outset.

The Biancocelesti managed to get to half-time unscathed, but a terrible error by goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha in the second half gifted Galatasaray a goal, which they managed to convert into the win.

The Roman club will not have long to lick their wounds, however, as they will face Walter Mazzarri’s Cagliari on Sunday evening at the Stadio Olimpico.

The team will be looking to bounce back in this game, having also lost against AC Milan 2-0 on the weekend.

Coach Maurizio Sarri and various players have highlighted that it will take a little time for the team to fully learn the coach’s tactics and movements.
