Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha made a calamitous error last night to give Galatasaray a 1-0 lead, which they converted to the win.

The 26-year-old Albanian made his first appearance of the season under Maurizio Sarri against the Turkish side last night but did little to restore the Italian coach’s confidence in him.

Below is a video of Strakosha’s mistake and consequential own goal:

The 26-year-old Strakosha, who has been with Lazio since 2013, was benched last campaign by previous coach Simone Inzaghi for Spanish veteran Pepe Reina.

Since the arrival of Sarri, the 39-year-old Spaniard has remained the number one, leaving the Albanian on the sidelines.
