With under 10 minutes remaining in regular time, Danilo Cataldi scored a wonderful strike to bring Lazio level vs Cagliari.
As the Biancocelesti were down by one and looking to get at least a point out of this Serie A fixture, Giovanni Martusciello used all five available substitutions; however, one substitution in particular did the trick to give Lazio a point.
Italian midfielder Cataldi was brought on for Lucas Leiva right after Cagliari’s second goal. He immediately made an impact in the middle of the park, moving the ball around with intent and directing the play. Then, in the 83rd minute, he paid back the trust that was given to him.
Following two attempts on goal, the ball bounced out to the top of the Cagliari 18-yard box. With Cataldi unmarked, he met the ball with perfection, striking it first time into the top left corner.
The strike beat Alessio Cragno in goal, who could do absolutely nothing but watch as the ball hit the underside of the crossbar and past the line.
