Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has an extra motive to impress against Torino this evening.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, there is notoriously bad blood between the Biancocelesti and Granata, with presidents Claudio Lotito and Urbano Cairo often at odds with each other.

Last season things exacerbated, with Lazio’s inconsistent Covid-19 case focusing on a 3-2 win over Torino, in which Immobile played despite apparently having tested positive for the virus.

There has never been any clarifications or formal apologies from Torino, despite the fact that Immobile came out of the case clean.

The 31-year-old Italian striker has moved on, remained a good professional and wants to shine against Torino today in front of his former fans. 

Immobile missed a penalty in a 0-0 draw with the Granata last season and is looking for goal number 156 today, which would put him three behind record-holder Silvio Piola.
