Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri wants the squad to push high and press aggressively against Torino this evening.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, huge step forwards were made in the 2-2 draw against Cagliari last weekend, with the Biancocelesti having 28 shots, 10 corners, 23 crosses and 73% ball possession.
Whilst these numbers didn’t stop the team from walking away with a draw, they showed the growth of the squad, who are slowly starting to adapt to Sarri’s system and philosophy.
The 62-year-old Italian coach wants the brilliance seen against Empoli and the aggressiveness of the second half against Cagliari, and so has asked the squad to tightly push up the pitch and press high.
The Roman club need to change their momentum ahead of Sunday’s Derby della Capitale against Roma.
