Guida has officiated one Derby della Capitale in the past, overseeing the match in September 2019 which ended 1-1. In that game, he gave Lazio four yellow cards and Roma three.
Lazio are coming into this derby in a run of poor form, having not won since their 6-1 win over Spezia at the end of last month.

Since then, the Biancocelesti have lost to AC Milan 2-0, Galatasaray 1-0 and drawn with Cagliari 2-2 and Torino 1-1.
Roma, on the other hand, have had a strong start to the season, beating Fiorentina 3-1, Salernitana 4-0, Sassuolo 2-1 and Udinese 1-0, although they did stumble in a 3-2 loss to Hellas Verona.
