Juric Unhappy With Torino’s 1-1 Draw vs Lazio, “Annoyed to Have Dropped 2 Points”

Torino coach Ivan Juric was frustrated following Lazio’s late equaliser in last night’s 1-1 draw between the two sides.

First speaking in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 46-year-old Croatian coach expressed his disappointment at the final result.

We played better and we could have scored more goals. I’m very annoyed to have dropped two points for a simple mistake.

We should have paid more attention to the spike there. It’s very disappointing.

He touched on the team’s growth and how useful it is to have five substitutions now, instead of only three.

The performance was really level and important. We can still grow, but we played a really good game. We are paying for the absence in attack, but the five changes are giving me a hand.

There is more choice, I must admit that at the beginning I was against it, but then I realised that it offers solutions.

Juric highlighted his belief at the Granata’s project and the value of the squad.

The squad is responding very well and I see a great desire for redemption after some difficult years in what is and remains a great place.

This is giving us a big hand. I signed for three years because I saw potential in this team. But we must remember the point from which we started. However, I think I have a respectable squad.

Lazio President Lotito Explains True Costs of Akpa Akpro, “Nothing Has Been Paid Yet”

He touched on his decision to use a 3-4-2-1 formation against Lazio.

It can happen that, when Belotti and Zaza return, that they can play together. But I prefer players who move between the lines.

Then obviously in football everything can happen.

Juric then discussed the draw with Lazio in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN.

We played better, we didn’t concede anything, it stings because we deserved it. They never shot, we were really stupid to lose it.

He commented on the improvements that still need to be made.

There is a need to have consistency in performances, I think the team has good potential.

The team has changed coaches a lot in recent years, we have changed something but there is the desire and the possibility to improve.

Injury to Zaccagni Will See Him Miss Lazio’s Next 4 Games, Including Derby vs Roma

The 46-year-old Croatian coach spoke about the squad available to him.

I think that there are players who can play at a high pace. They are young and they can grow.

We have to grow on a technical level and on the speed of moving the ball.

He discussed Torino winger Marko Pjaca.

He had a calf problem that’s why I kept him on the bench. I am ‘in love’ with him.

He has a long career ahead of him and he can grow a lot.

Finally, Juric confirmed that he wasn’t distracted by the upcoming Turin derby against Juventus.

I’m thinking about Venezia, if I think about Juve we’re out of our minds.

Torino now sit 9th in the Serie A table after five games, with seven points. They are one point behind 7th place Lazio.
