Lazio vs Roma Could Be the Turning Point for Luis Alberto & Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Tomorrow’s derby between Lazio and Roma could be the turning point for Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the midfield duo have been largely absent in the recent disappointing games against AC Milan, Galatasaray, and Cagliari, failing to perform up to their usual high standards.

Coach Maurizio Sarri is not willing to change Lazio’s formation or system for tomorrow’s derby against Roma and wants both Luis Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic to finally shine together.

His recent talks with the team highlighted that the midfield pair, who are some of the most technical players in the squad, have been struggling because they have been so focused on the new tasks that they’ve been neglecting their natural qualities.

The derby against Roma tomorrow, however, could be the turning point for the duo, who are slowly adapting to Sarri’s tactical system.

Both players have years of experience playing in the Derby della Capitale and so will not be too intimidated by the atmosphere.
