Lazio Midfielder Cataldi Looks Ahead to Derby vs Roma, “A Tough & Difficult Derby”

Lazio midfielder Danilo Cataldi looked ahead to tonight’s Derby della Capitale against Roma.

Speaking in the match programme (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder first spoke about the importance of his goal in the 2-2 draw against Cagliari.

I don’t know if it was the goal of redemption, but it was an important goal for me and for the team in a moment in which we are not collecting as much as we should.

He commented on his goal against Roma in the derby in the 2018/19 season.

The emotions were huge. It’s hard to say what you feel in those moments but I can assure you that it was pure happiness.

Finally, Cataldi spoke about tonight’s derby against the Giallorossi and the duel between Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho.

I expect a tough and difficult derby, in which two teams who want to face each other openly will compete.

We don’t feel the comparison between the coaches, certainly they are two strong personalities, but the derby is always Lazio versus Roma, there is no player or coach that can be greater than this comparison.

Lazio Coach Sarri Calls Derby vs Roma “One of the Most Important Matches in Europe”

Lazio are coming into tonight’s derby against Roma in a run of poor form, which started with a 2-0 loss to AC Milan earlier this month.

Examining the Effect of Jose Mourinho on Roma Ahead of Fixture Against Lazio

It is clear that the squad will need more time to adapt to Sarri’s tactical system, but some positive signs have been seen which give hope for the future.

Roma, on the other hand, have started their season well under Mourinho, having won four of their five opening games, only losing to Hellas Verona 3-2 last weekend.
