Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic overtook Sinisa Mihajlovic to become the 3rd highest Serbian goalscorer in Serie A history.
As highlighted by stats provider Sacha Pisani on Twitter last night, the 26-year-old Serbian midfielder has now scored 39 goals in the Italian top-flight since joining the Biancocelesti in 2015.
The two Serbian players ahead of Milinkovic-Savic now are former Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic, who has scored 48 Serie A goals, and former Lazio midfielder Dejan Stanković, who netted 51 Serie A goals.
The 26-year-old Milinkovic-Savic, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, is still adapting to coach Maurizio Sarri’s system, but has already scored two goals and provided two assists this campaign.
He will remain one of the stars in the squad under the 62-year-old Italian coach, even if he is still getting used to Sarri’s requests for now.
