Lazio winger Pedro expressed how special yesterday’s 3-2 derby win against Roma was for him.

Speaking in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN (via LazioNews24) after the game, the 34-year-old Spanish winger spoke about his emotions after such a thrilling match.

I’m very happy for the win and for the fans. We played a good game and I’m happy for the coach as well.

For me today was a special derby, it was not easy, but we did well. The derby in Rome is very important and this success has great value.

He touched on how the Lazio squad feels like one big family.

I feel very good here and I’m happy to be at Lazio. The fans have welcomed me well and so have my teammates. Lazio is a big family.

And then I like Sarri’s game. I want to give everything on the field for this team.

The 34-year-old Spanish winger spoke about the goal he scored against his former side Roma.

I’m happy to have scored and to have made history. But it mattered more the victory of the team.

Pedro then discussed the win in an interview with Lazio Style Radio.

The derby is special for me, I have been told that few have scored with both teams.

The important thing for me is that the team won and the fans are happy, we were coming from a moment that wasn’t exactly positive.

The Spanish winger spoke about his relationship with coach Maurizio Sarri.

For me Sarri is the first protagonist of the match, he is a top coach. Even he was not coming from a great moment, all week he has motivated us, it is important for us and I feel the trust.

That’s why as soon as I scored I went to him. We take confidence game after game.

He touched on the importance of the Derby della Capitale in the city of Rome.

In the derby there is always tension and the motivation to do well because you play for the people.

The Rome derby is one of the most exciting derbies in the world, we talk about it all week and that’s why we’re even happier to have won.

The former Chelsea winger commented on how great it was to celebrate the victory with the fans.

Incredible that all the people were dancing at the end of the game, the fans are with us and we have to thank them for all this support.

Finally, Pedro spoke about the upcoming fixtures and the momentum the derby win gives.

These kinds of games bring confidence, and we have to take advantage of the moment.

I think we can do well in the next few fixtures.

Pedro is only one of three players to have ever scored in the Derby della Capitale for both Lazio and Roma.
