Jose Mourinho is the first Roma coach since Luis Enrique in 2011 to lose his first Derby della Capitale against Lazio.
As highlighted by Italian stats provider OptaPaolo on Twitter last night, the 58-year-old Portuguese coach was left frustrated at the end of last night’s derby against the Biancocelesti, with Maurizio Sarri’s side coming out victorious 3-2.
There have been seven different Roma coaches since Luis Enrique’s derby loss in 2011, with coaches like Rudi Garcia, Luciano Spalletti, and Eusebio Di Francesco all at least securing a draw in their first matches against Lazio.
Despite the derby defeat, Roma have still had a good start to the season under Mourinho, winning four of their opening six games of the season.
Their next game of the season is against Zorya Luhansk in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
