Video: Toma Basic Puts Lazio Ahead Against Lokomotiv in Europa League Clash

Lazio took the lead against Lokomotiv Moscow within the first 15 minutes of the match, courtesy of a header from Toma Basic.

The Croatian midfielder, who was signed this past summer from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, was handed his first start for the Biancocelesti against the Russian Premier League club. Before this fixture, he had only played in two matches for Lazio for a total of 41 minutes; however, he paid back the trust that was given to him early in this fixture.

The play started from the right flank when Felipe Anderson found himself with time and space after a poor clearance. He dribbled his way past three Lokomotiv players before slipping a pass through to Pedro. The Spaniard, without looking up, then played a cross towards the six-yard box that Basic was able to meet.

He beat Guilherme in goal to put Lazio ahead 1-0; this will definitely provide him with some much-needed confidence to cool down his nerves.
